The Flagbearer, Prof John Evans Atta Mills was at his best, spelling out his vision for Ghana and the need to assemble a capable team - which his party has in abundance to execute his vision, stressing that any one of his lieutenants who fall foul of his directives will not be spared. He also promised to unite the nation.
According to Prof Mills, he will not allow Ghana to become "a wholly owned subsidiary of drug barons", adding that the era of "polarising and vindictive politics" will be over, adding that the party had already declared that it was not going to engage in a comparison of records to distract attention from challenges that faced the country such as the energy crisis, unemployment, education, health, the drug menace as well as the expansion of the economy, but work to create a better Ghana for the people.
Introducing his Running mate, Prof Mills summed it all up in these words " I have a Running Mate in whom I am pleased"
Hon John Dramani Mahama, when he took his turn, exalted Prof Mills for his honesty and work ethics. He promised to compliment and partner Professor Mills for victory - assuring Ghanaians of a fair shake through improvements in the economy and social infrastracture.
