Black Stars still heroes

It was never going to be an easy task to win the gold medal considering the level of competition and nobody can blame the Black Stars for not winning the ultimate.

Winning a bronze medal in style by taking out no less a team than tournament favorites, Cote d’Ivoire, with a 4-2 victory margin, is no mean achievement.

The Black Stars and their handlers certainly did not disgrace the nation and NDC Leader and Presidential Candidate, John Evans Atta Mills, regards as heroes.

“The young men have done us proud and this a time for patting them on the back and encouraging them to do better in future, and not a time for any whip cracking” is the way John Evans Atta Mills puts it.

For a team that is quite young, but have a forward-looking approach to their play, there is every reason to believe that our senior national football team is on a renaissance ride and we can only look forward to the future with a lot of optimism.

John Evans Atta Mills says ayekoo to the, organisers, the technical team, the management team, and the players, for giving off their best and in the process making Ghana proud.

There are certainly better days ahead for the Black Stars and we can only hope and pray that they continue to shine brighter in future tournaments.

The Pharaohs of Egypt certainly acquitted themselves well and John Evans Atta Mills congratulates them for winning the cup for a record sixth time.
