.....and Kwabena Agyepong lied, twice.
July 8th
The Professor Mills campaign, has noted the lengths to which NPP party executives and surrogates will go to associate him with the recent national awards ceremony
Like Stephen Asamoah Boateng and Dr. Arthur Kennedy before him, Kwabena Agyepong has exposed himself as another peddler of falsehood within the fold
of the NPP.
On Adom FM’s “Die Mi Hunu Egyumadie” programme on July 9th, Kwabena Agyepong sought to create the impression that Professor Atta Mills had agreed to
accept the award first at his visit to Nkroful recently and later at the IEA organised ‘Evening Encounter”.
A statement released by the Communications outfit of the NDC Leader right after the program, questioned the rational behind such falsehood, daring Kwabena Agyepong
to "produce any evidence" he had to support his allegations. After all the onus lies on the one making the allegations to support them.
The statement went on to state that it was obvious the NPP finds itself in an unredeemable position, due to the media backlash and the numerous negative comments made by ordinary
Ghanaians, and as such will want to squeeze itself out of the situation with lies.
Although Prof Mills spoke about the awards at Nkroful, stating that the only person who deserves the highest award of the land is Dr Kwame Nkrumah. He did mention
instituting a national holiday to honour Dr. Nkrumah as the Founder of Ghana.
The statement went on "If Kwabena Agyepong, as Presidential Press Secretary to President Kufuor, when the President missed a scheduled interview with Shaka Ssali on VOA
under inexplicable circumstances, was able to peddle falsehood that the President missed the programme because he was caught up in traffic in the city of New York, we are
not surprised that Kwabena will not hesitate to peddle falsehood about Professor Atta Mills. "
The Atta Mills Communications Team has thus thrown down the gauntlet, that falsehood from the "lying trio" of Stephen Asamoah Boateng, Dr. Arthur Kennedy and
Kwabena Agyepong in addition to others in the NPP will not go unanswered during this campaign, as their attempt to score cheap political points will be thwarted with the truth.
The question now is - Has the NPP promised its surrogate with the most lies a reward?
