Mills Ends Tour In Volta Region

John Evans Atta Mills, has ended his nationwide tour which according to Communications Director, Koku Anyidoho, is phase one of what is intended to be a series of trips around the country to share the 'I Care For You' message of the NDC Leader with the electorate. Described as “A very successful tour” by Koku Anyidoho, the 2 week trip which ended last Friday, saw Professor Atta Mills visit his home region, Central Region, the Eastern, Ashanti, Brong Ahafo, Upper West, Upper East, Northern and Volta regions.

Met by teeming supporters wherever he went, Professor Mills and his entourage paid courtesy calls on traditional leaders, opinion leaders, religious leaders, workers groups, and interacted with executives of the NDC and party faithfuls. Professor Mills also made it a point to interact with NPP supporters whenever it was possible. The central theme that run through the message of the NDC Leader, was that, when given the mandate to manage the affairs of the state, his main objective will be to better the lot of Ghanaians and be president of Ghana and not president of the NDC.

According to professor Mills, he will want the successes of his government to be measured by the level to which he and his team will be able to provide the necessary social amenities and provide social intervention policies for the majority of the people, and not by the amount of personal wealth that will accrue to him. The NDC Leader spoke to issues of, health, education, job creation, internal security, justice for all, and promised that with the combined experience of being in government as well as lessons learnt in opposition, the NDC is very much poised to win the elections and give Ghanaians a better Ghana.

Professor Mills also advised the people to make sure they register in their numbers when the registration exercise begins in May since apart from it being a civic duty to vote, voting to give the NDC the mandate is the only way Ghanaians can put an end to the incessant hardship that the NPP government is saddling the nation with. In the coming days, the NDC promises to roll out phase two of their campaign strategy which would be geared towards making Professor Mills meet as many Ghanaians as possible for him to continue to sell the visions and plans he has for the country with them.
